Bendigo Community Toy Library is celebrating its 30th birthday this weekend.

They are having a children’s party at their Spring Gully site from 9.30am – noon on Saturday.

The party is free for all its members and the general public with pre-school aged children.

Jam-packed with toys to play with from the toy library service, the party will also have children’s entertainment, door prizes, gift bags, party cake, Amazing Mr Mike, bubbles, face painting and a barbecue – all totally free.

Bendigo Community Toy Library president Esther Kerr, said this year marks 30 years of servicing the Bendigo community.

“It’s a milestone we are very proud of, which is made possible thanks to all our past volunteer committees and members and we wanted to mark the special occasion the best way we know how, with lots of fun for the kids,” Ms Kerr said.

“We’ve already had around 200 children pre-registered to come to the party, so it is going to be a fun filled morning.

“We’re also hosting a reunion for all our past committee members the night before to reflect and celebrate their achievements.”

The toy library continues to thrive and grow with more than 170 family-memberships, with more than 1500 toys for families to borrow.

The library is on the corner of Spring Gully Road and Kendall Street, visit www.bendigotoylibrary.org.au or phone 0439 504 857.
