THE Bendigo Traders Association Board member Graeme Baker has been forced to resign from his position after a unanimous vote last night.
Mr Baker was asked to resign from his position after he publicly spoke out against fellow BTA board member Martin Ruffell on radio last week.
Mr Baker said he was disappointed with the outcome of last night's meeting and said he questioned the future direction of the BTA.
"I am very disappointed because I have done my very best to represent the traders and businesses in the whole of the CBD," Mr Baker said.
"The board is now down to eight members and their ability to represent over 500 businesses in town is questionable."
Mr Baker questioned the integrity of the BTA after the agenda of last nights meeting was leaked to local media.
"Every member was asked if they leaked the agenda and no one put their hand up, this raises serious concerns about integrity and the future of the BTA."
The Gold Rush Jewellers owner was a founding member of the group and previously held the position of vice-president. Mr Baker said he requested a written outline of his accusations before last nights meeting but failed to receive the document. Mr Baker said he was left out of the loop and described the BTA action as "very bad form".
