Jason Dean
TWO former AFL stars will headline the fundraising appeal for Bendigo father of three, Jason Dean.
Jason became a quadriplegic earlier this year after a freak fall on a jumping castle.
Since then his friends and family have rallied around him as he undergoes treatment in Melbourne.
One of the big concerns for the Dean family has been the fact his house is unsuitable for his return.
His friends have set up a fund to help Jason, his three children and wife Shannon to raise enough money to build a house that will be suitable for his needs.
A lot of work is needed, however, before that can happen.
On February 17, an appeal auction will be held at the Eaglehawk
Secondary College to raise money for a new house for the family, one that is suitable for Jason.
Well-known sporting identity Kevin Sheehan has organised football legends David Parkin and Danny Frawley as guest speakers.
Mr Sheehan will also bring a variety of signed sporting items for auction.
Jason was released from hospital in early December for a Christmas celebration with his family.
The emotional weekend also saw him catch up with some work mates at Industrial Conveying Australia.
Meanwhile, other Bendigo businesses are continuing to get behind the appeal.
Bendigo Radiology staff donated their Kris Kringle money to the appeal, raising $530.
SEW Eurodrive, which supplies industrial, geared and electric motors across Australia, also chipped in.
The staff there donated a $2000 golf package including a bag, clubs, drivers and merchandise.
