Humpty Dumpty had a ... great Scott, he's been stolen
HUMPTY Dumpty was fixed to a wall, of the toy library in the Spring Gully hall. Last week some baddies, screw driver in hand, climbed up the wall and took off with our man. The children are weeping, the parents are mad, if the thief saw this, how could they be glad? How could they keep Humpty hidden away, when he should be out in the light of day. The police and the parents are on the trail, of the thief but so far, to no avail. Someone must have seen the rotund fellow, he’s two metres tall, red, blue and yellow. The families just want their Humpty back, if you’re holding him ransom, please have some tact. Think of the kids, the tears on their face, and just sneak him back to his rightful place. Toy Library committee member Brenda Greenall hopes someone in Bendigo knows Humpty’s whereabouts. “It’s pretty low,” she said. “It’s one thing to steal milk crates but it’s another thing to steal our Humpty. “You can’t hide something like that, it’s big so someone must have seen it.” She said the nursery rhyme character had become a landmark for children visiting the Spring Gully library, and had helped boost the service’s exposure in Bendigo. “It was made by a group of mums, who worked together to make it.”
