Traders association decided next week
THE future of the Bendigo Traders Association and possibly the $300,000 promotional levy will be decided next week.
Postal voting for the BTA board position closes on Monday, with results expected to be known by next Saturday.
Only 207 businesses and landlords out of a possible 800 eligible have registered to vote.
The Bendigo Weekly last week revealed the voting process had split the CBD traders into two camps.
One camp, headed by Lisa Ruffell wants to keep the levy and continue to work with the City of Greater Bendigo council to make it a success.
The other group, headed by greengrocer Norm Quin, wants to put the entire levy on hold until every trader has a vote on whether or not to keep it.
