Axedale truck rollover

A TRUCK driver was flown to the Alfred Hospital following an accident near Axedale this morning.

The cattle truck the man was driving rolled on the Axedale to Goornong Road shortly after 9am.

He was trapped for more than two hours, before being flown to Melbourne in a stable condition with lacerations to his head.

The road was blocked off to traffic until 1pm.

Eight bulls either died during the crash or had to be destroyed. More than 20 fled to a nearby paddock in a stressed state.
