| Love is in the air for Ebonie |

“She’s everything I need, everything I want.”
EBONIE Kunaus hasn’t quite come back down to earth since February 16. But she should be forgiven for having her head in the clouds ...it’s been there since the 25-year-old was swept off her feet with a romantic proposal from Daniel Clarke. Expecting to spend last Saturday morning on a joy flight with family friends Ray and Wendy Pilcher, Ebonie collected Daniel from his home and set off for the airport for the 7.30am flight. She had a quick peek to see if Daniel had a ring box, but quickly dismissed the idea of a proposal when her scan revealed nothing. Little did she know that Daniel had been planning what was to come for more than a month. Not wanting to give the secret away, Daniel had hidden the box under his arm. His month-long project saw Daniel search the internet for the materials required, with a 30kg newspaper roll freighted to Bendigo from a Queensland packaging company. Daniel then spent countless hours cutting out seven-metre tall letters, which would spell the words ‘will you marry me’. A quick flight over Strathdale a week before the big day allowed him to plan where the letters should be placed, and with the help of friends Brady and Michael, it took two hours from 5.30am to put the letters in place with barbecue skewers. Daniel arrived home just minutes before his fiancee-to-be arrived to collect him for the couple’s joy flight. After five minutes in the air, Ebonie was guided by Ray and Wendy to look at something below. At that point, Daniel admits the nerves set in. But they quickly disappeared when Ebonie saw the words “will you marry me” on the earth below. “I was like, ‘oh my goodness’,” she said. “I looked at Daniel and he had the biggest grin ever. “He gave me the ring ... but he couldn’t remember me saying yes. “It was pretty special.” It’s a far cry from the couple’s first date five years ago, when Ebonie paid for their evening at Clogs and the cinemas. But Daniel has since proved a romantic, surprising his love with spontaneous acts such as candle-lit dinners in the park. He believes Ebonie is worth every effort. “She’s everything I need, everything I want.”
