Riding ’round Bendigo
By Eddie Barkla
Maldon – 40km one way
Maldon is worth a ride for the cafes. Tempt someone to pick you up if you only want to go one way.
From town, head down the Calder Highway to Crusoe Road.
Turn right and pedal to the alternate Calder. Left takes you through Lockwood and up to the Maldon turnoff.
Then it’s a straight run to Maldon.
It gets busy by afternoon, so leave early for a quiet run.
The Bendigo Bicycle Group publishes a full calendar of rides. See www.bendigobug.org.au.
