Bendigo eateries showcased
MORE than 20 restaurateurs from Hong Kong sampled what Bendigo’s eateries had to offer this week.
The group, consisting of 23 restaurant owners, executive chefs and company principals, came to the region to experience the local wines, food and food service products for the Hong Kong restaurant trade, at the invitation of the Central Victorian Exporters Network and Austrade.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for the producers of Bendigo and central Victoria,” Austrade’s Bendigo export adviser Scott McGillivray said.
“With continual exposure of the region’s wine and food and with particular reference to our clean and green environment, more and more international opportunities are developing every day.”
The group went on a winery tour and were hosted to a lunch at Bazzani Italiano.
The lunch incorporated a mini expo of food and wines supplied by about 30 businesses.
“Our aim is to present a range of food and wine that will be attractive to our guests,” Mr McGillivray said.
