Special day for special people

International day of the Midwife

MOST people don’t spend a lot of time with midwives in their lives, but when they do they are eternally grateful for their help and support.
With that in mind the Australian College of Midwives celebrated International day of the Midwife in Bendigo on Monday.
A special store at The Marketplace saw children and their parents have fun with face painting and balloon creation, as well as finding out about pregnancy and family planning
School children also took part in a painting competition and a large collection of art work by the children was displayed.
The International Day of the Midwife is an occasion where midwives throughout the world celebrate their profession and have the opportunity to inform the community of their work and showcase their profession.
