Service clubs in the news as Lions honour long-serving members and Y raises cash
TWO Strathfieldsaye Lions Club members were rewarded for their amazing service to the organisation recently.
Bob Georgeson clocked up 45 years of serving his community through Lions International while Mike Hanrahan has been a hard-working Lions member for 30 years.
Bob began his Lions career in South Australia, and among his achievements he lists starting a Lions club in Micronesia which is still in existence today.
He is currently promoting Strathfieldsaye Lions Club’s Lions Eye Health program, which is a 35-minute presentation available free of charge to any interested club or group of people.
Mike began his Lions membership in Wedderburn before transferring to Strathfieldsaye.
His special interest is the Lions Youth of the Year Quest, which he jointly runs at club level every year with two other club members.
