Everyone encouraged to take part
THE City of Greater Bendigo council is seeking public feedback on a draft Economic Development Strategy.
Mayor David Jones said the strategy was of interest to all local businesses and residents because it provided guidance for the economic future of the municipality.
“This strategy has been developed in consultation with local business and the Bendigo+25 Industry and Innovation Group with the aim of developing a regional culture of innovation, entrepreneurship and collaboration,” he said.
“The strategy also encourages the facilitation of sustainable business growth and the development of the local workforce by ensuring we have the correct infrastructure in place to help this to happen.”
Cr Jones said the strategy was aimed at encouraging Greater Bendigo to become a thinking city.
“Our region will face challenges in the future and the strategy encourages us to think about how we deal with these challenges and how we can become more clever in the way we maximise the region’s strengths and assets to support the development of local business,” he said.
“The draft strategy has been placed on the council’s website www.bendigo.gov.au and I encourage everyone to take some time to have a look at it and pass on any comments that they may have.”
