Bendigo Powerlifter Julie Loomes continued her good form last weekend with a powerful performance at state level.
More than 40 lifters contested the 2008 Victorian Powerlifting Championships  at the Strathfieldsdaye Sports Club last weekend.
Several records were broken at state and national level with age classes ranging from teenagers through to the 65 to 70 years Masters section.
Loomes led the women’s section with a dominant display.
She has a body weight of 52.5kg and she got among the records with a squat of 80kg, bench press of 50kg and a dead lift of 125kg.
Next up for our local lifters will be the Australian championships in August and then the world championships to be contested in the USA in November.
