Masters Of Motocross kick start a huge season of racing at Toolleen Park this weekend.
Hosted by the Central Victorian Motocross Club, which has been operating for over 25 years, there will be over 400 riders at the track for the two day meet.
Recent upgrades of the track make it one of the best and most popular on the motocross circuit.
Club spokesman Mark Ruedin said the weekend would be the first in a busy schedule in coming months.
‘’We are expecting a big roll up of competitors for this weekends racing as the riders prepare themselves for the third round of the 2008 Junior Victorian Championships
being held at our track at the end of June,” Ruedin said.
“We have changed the track considerably. We have done this through working bees with our club members and the assistance of our sponsors.
“The major change is our new 40-gate starting grid to bring us up to state level and enables us to have much bigger fields and less heats.”
One of the stars of the meet is expected to be Australia’s great Kristy Gillespie aboard a KTM 4stroke.
Local riders are also expected to shine this weekend. Racing starts at 9am and it’s free admission.
