Bombers bounced out of the blocks

The Metricon Bendigo Bombers scored their second win of the season when they downed Frankston under lights at the Queen Elizabeth Oval.
The young Bombers bounced out of the blocks in the first term to grab a handy lead with Laycock and Bellchambers combining well in the ruck and classy running players Johnson, Jetta and Reimers getting plenty of the ball.
Conditions were perfect and the skill level stepped up as the players hit their targets with classy handball and skilful kicking to position being a feature of the game.
Despite only a small crowd in attendance the Bombers held off a determined Frankston in the closing minutes to win by three points.
Now with two wins on the board coach Adrian Hickmott believes his charges are showing improvement and can still make the finals action later in the year.
‘’It was good that some of the young Bendigo based players got their opportunity to step up to VFL level. We just need to get it all together again this Sunday when we meet Williamstown at the QEO in what will be a very important game for both clubs.’’ He said.
