» COUNCIL FEAR
SECURITY measures have been introduced at City of Greater Bendigo council meetings to ensure the safety of councillors and directors. Wednesday night’s council meeting was video-recorded, and the public gallery was sectioned off by rope from the councillors and directors.

» Altar to stay says bishop
Head of the Sandhurst Diocese, Bishop Joe Grech, has no plans to move the altar from the sanctuary to the area in front of the pews, nor remove the altar rails.

BENDIGO Health chief executive Kathy Byrne has resigned after nine years at the hospital. Ms Byrne announced to staff on Wednesday that she will be leaving in April. She has not revealed what she is doing after that, saying only that she intends to have a holiday overseas.
