CFA crews arrive to battle the blaze.

Locals are rallying to fundraise for the Trenfield family who lost their Ascot family home yesterday.

Lucky to survive, the family of seven's home caught fire on Sunday morning which saw Country Fire Authority crews attend.

Running for two weeks, the Uniquely Awesome Kids organisation are leading the financial fundraiser charge, drawing on local support.

The Jaylan Fundraiser aims to financially help the family get back on their feet, to buy food, household goods and other necessary items.

Jaylan Fundraiser organiser Rachelle Fox said she felt compelled to help a family in a similar situation.

"The money will help the family buy things that they need in a few weeks. It is important they have the money to help them replace the things they need," the fellow school-parent  said.

"Helping the family is just what the community does, especially with a child with special needs, it can often be a bit tougher."

A cheque will be be given to the Trenfield family on behalf of the donors at the end of the two weeks.

The Turn A Life Around organisation has given Jaylan a replacement iPad to assist with his autism.

Facebook user Megan Gai said she hoped the community would support this family.

“This family are beautiful people, I’ve known them for years and I’m sure our lovely town will all band together in our generosity,” she wrote on the Jaylan Fundraiser page.

The Jaylan Fundraiser supports the family and son Jaylan who has special needs.

Another fundraiser, Trenfield Family Fundraiser, is calling for donations of clothing, toiletries and other items.

A line of boxes, for donations, will be set up along the fenceline of the house at 96 Myrtle Road from 1pm to 5pm today.

Locals are urged to donate to help the family get back on their feet.

Cash donations, referenced “Jaylan” can be made via PayPal or emailed to or directly deposited to Bendigo Bank, Uniquely Awesome Kids with BSB: 633000 and account number 147 047 385.
