MUMS and bubs have banded together to form the MaCapella Singers, a group connecting mums through music.

The community-lead group has expanded from its humble beginnings at the Castlemaine Presbyterian Church, now connecting mothers from both Kyneton and Bendigo.

Tara Flinn, founder of the MaCapella Singers, founded the group in 2015.

Returning to work after her newborn, Tara wanted something that engaged both her passion for singing and her child.

“The experience provides cognitive and mood elevating benefits for both mums and children,” Tara said.

“For many mums, this has been the first thing they’ve done for themselves and the response from both parties has been wonderful.”

MaCappella sees members coming from all over the region meeting once a week at 11am.

The group meets every Friday at the Presbyterian Church in Castlemaine and every Tuesday at the Uniting Church in Forest Street, Bendigo.
