PREMIERSHIP SUCCESS: Miggy Podosky and Dave Bicknell.

BDCA batsmen take note. Bendigo United’s premiership quick Miggy Podosky is yet to reach his best, despite dominating the competition so far.
Sitting on top of the ladder, the Redbacks are on course to avenge last year’s  94-run grand final loss to Strathdale-Maristians.
And pivotal to their performance has been Podosky with 19 wickets at an average of 12.74 from just 83 overs.
But in a warning to A Grade batsman, he’s yet to fully recover from a broken ankle he sustained last year playing basketball.
“I’m not bowling as fast as I have in the past,” he said.
“It (the ankle) hurts a lot after matches.”
However a modest Podosky said the secret to his 2011/12 success has been the bloke bowling up the other end.
“Without a doubt in my mind, strong bowling partnerships with whoever I’m bowling with at the other end is what has got my wickets,” he said.
“And some luck. Building pressure from both ends is the key.”
Podosky said the Redbacks’ early season form had been a great result, considering the change in personel from last year.
“At the start of season we had a fairly new look side and heaps of people outside of the club thought that we would be nowhere near as good as we have been this season,” he said.
Meanwhile former Test batsman Matthew Elliott looks certain to reappear for Bendigo against Strathfieldsaye after a knee injury, while in other Round Nine matches, Sandhurst plays Golden Square, Strathdale-Maristians host Huntly/North Bendigo and White Hills take on Kangaroo Flat.
