The COG, a hub for Bendigo’s young people, community and businesses, is looking for 10 new permanent art works to decorate the newly-created space.
This is an exciting opportunity for young artists aged between 12 and 25 years to exhibit their work and receive public recognition for their skills and creativity.
Applicants must submit a resume, provide an artist statement and two or three pictures of work produced in the past 12 months.
The successful applicants will then be provided with a wooden panel and colour palette to guide the development of their artwork.
They will be mentored by Jimmy Possum director Margot Spalding, who designed the COG’s interior and furniture.
Ms Spalding said it was important to foster the artistic talents of local young people and help them realise their commercial potential as artists.
“It will be a collaborative design process; the artists will develop work to complement the existing watermelon, green and turquoise colour scheme and together we will come up with options for both a series and individual pieces of work,” she said.
The COG is at 45 Mundy Street in Bendigo. Applications close Friday, July 26.
Successful applicants will need to submit their final artwork by August 30.
Artists will also be paid $300 for completion of artwork.
