Friday, March 8
Frontier services dinner: Meet the artist David and Shirley Williams and others at St Andrews. Entrance by ticket only. Details: 5441 4116.

Lockwood Old Time Dance: From 8pm, at the Lockwood Hall. Music by Rita Mullins, lucky door, Monte Carlo and lucky spot prizes. $7. Please bring a plate.

March 9 to 11
Rochie Patchers: The Rochie Patchers’ 10th Patchwork & Quilting Exhibition at the Rochester Shire Hall in Mackay Street. Admission is $5 and proceeds will be disbursed to local charities.  

Saturday, March 9
Fundraising event: Bush Pig Inn at 109 Watson Street, Bendigo starting at 2pm. Events such as the gumboot toss, fly swatting competition, horse shoe throwing and tug of war will be just some of the events on offer. This year’s proceeds will go to Soldier On.

Guildford Market: Guildford Public Hall, 9am to 1pm.

Sunday, March 10
Redesdale Bush Market: Agnes Mudford Reserve 8.30am until 2pm. The Victoria Police Band will be performing and there will be a variety of stalls, ranging from local produce including wine tastings, olives, cake stalls and plants. Outside Stalls are available for $15. Details: 5425 3194.

Sandakan Commemoration: 11am, Sandakan Memorial, Strathdale Park, McIvor Highway.

The Taradale Mineral Springs Festival: 10am to 4pm at the Mineral Springs Reserve, Taradale. The Festival is a family event with something for everyone, including handcrafts, local wines and produce.

Bush Picnic Lunch: Following the Sunday morning service at St Andrews, BYO lunch and chair at Axedale Uniting Church. Devonshire teas for sale all afternoon. Details: 5439 7251.

Monday, March 11
Labour Day Dance: And every other Monday 7.30pm to 10.30pm.  A plate of supper to share would be appreciated. $4 At Spring Gully Hall, Spring Gully Road, Bendigo. Details: 5444 2953.

Thursday, March 14
Hymns Alive: A non denominational group of people who enjoy getting together to sing much loved hymns also they enjoy an afternoon tea, fellowship and lots of laughter. Meet fortnightly on Thursdays from 1.30pm to 3pm at the Connect Church Hall, Solomon Street, Bendigo. Details: 5447 8161.

Bethlehem Ladies Auxiliary is holding a Trading stall at Strath Village Shopping Centre. All donations and/or help are welcome. Details: 5439 6389.

Afternoon Tea Dance: 1.30pm to 5.30pm, music by Family Rhythm. All proceeds to a young epilepsy sufferer. Admission $7, a plate of supper would be appreciated. Details: 5447 2004.
