FANS of classic cars are in for a treat next week as Maserati owners drive into Bendigo.
The city is a stop-off point for the Maserati Global Gathering which sets off from the Great Ocean Road on Tuesday.
The classics are on show at car display at Castlemaine Gaol on Thursday from noon until 2pm, and arrive at the Schaller Hotel at 5pm the same day.
On Friday the cars set off at 9am.
It’s a multi-million dollar collection of historic and unique Maserati supercars, plus a fleet of modern Maseratis, it’s not often you will have the chance to see them.
The five-day, 1500-kilometre journey is running to Sydney.
Participating cars include a 1974 Quattroporte 2, Built for the Aga Khan, one of only two built and a 2008 Quattroporte Bellagio Touring one of just four in the world.
Also on the run is a 1964 Mistral Spyder, one of only 14 right-hand drive Spyders made.
