A Young Bendigo agent took first place at the Victorian Young Auctioneers Competition on Monday.

McKean McGregor’s Zeb Broadbent won the event with Jamie Quinlan of Elders Pakenham named as runner-up.

Zeb and Jamie will now continue to work on their selling style as they will represent Victoria at the 2016 ALPA National Young Auctioneers Competition to be held at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

They will compete against other state finalists for the title of ALPA 2016 National Young Auctioneer and the opportunity to represent Australia at the International Livestock Auctioneer Championships held at the Calgary Stampede in Canada.

Each auctioneer sold their three lots while being judged by a panel of three auctioneers from within the industry.

They were marked on diction, values, voice and manner, as well as their presence and
unique style.

“The competition was such a success. The talent on display is a testament to the hard work, dedication and training the competitors have put towards their profession,” ALPA president Dave Corcoran said.
