Bendigo will host the 68th Victorian Country Table Tennis Championships across the Queen’s Birthday long weekend.
The second largest table tennis tournament in Australia comes to town from tomorrow until Monday, with this the fourth consecutive year the championships have been held in Bendigo.
More than 400 participants will take part in the play, with last year’s 114 teams eclipsed by this year’s number of 119 teams.
Sixty-eight new players will attend for the first time in both teams and individual events, with 57 tables to be used to host the event at the Table Tennis and Badminton Stadium in Eaglehawk.
There are 11 teams from Bendigo hoping for championship glory.
The general public is invited to attend and watch the action for free.
Awards will be presented by Member for Bendigo West Maree Edwards, Cr James Williams and the chief executive officer of Table Tennis Victoria Ritchie Hinton following the men’s and women’s singles final on Monday afternoon.
